Ojcu

 

Patrzyliśmy w osłupieniu,
że właściwie nic się nie stało;
Ptak nie uderzył o szybę
nie zagrzmiało niebo,
powietrze się nie zapadło
tam gdzie zazwyczaj siedział,
nie runęło drzewo.

Jego fotel stał jak stał,
obraz wisiał jak wisiał.
Umarł ojciec
nic się nie stało 

..............................

We watched in disbelief
that nothing really happened.
A bird didn’t hit the windowno thunder shattered the sky.
The air did not cave inwhere he usually sat
nor his favourite tree collapsed.

His chair was standing where it stood before
the picture hung where it was always hanging.

Father died.
Nothing really happened
